I have had a three-day headache that has been simply terrible; it's really gotten me down. Not even I have been able to find the silver lining in the headache cloud that has settled in my personal patch of sky.
I blame stress, which always seems like a good thing to blame where headaches are concerned. So, when I submitted my chapters for the book I've been working on and then finished the final press release that I've been contracted to write, I thought my headache would disappear.
Ah, no.
It took something a little bit stronger to knock this one out: I went for a run.
The 4.5 miles I ran this evening chased my headache cloud into an entirely different part of the sky. (Hope it hasn't settled in your sky...) Finally! I'm back.
I feel like a different person than the one I was for the past three days. I'm not grimacing -- or, at least, not from the pounding pain in my head. Relieved, I can now catch up on some blogs, read the newspaper and maybe, if I'm lucky, get a good night's sleep.
I hate those headaches! Glad yours is gone..sleep well!
ReplyDeleteI don't get headaches very often, when I do they are debilitating. Good for you for getting out and running through it. Better yet - that was the cure!
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things that running cures... I go for a run anytime I have a headache or feeling drained or just in a bad mood.
ReplyDeleteRunning really does wonders!
Running is a cure all. Make sure you are hydrating as well. Dry winter days can worsen headaches. Take care!
ReplyDeleteGreat job pulling yourself up to get in a run, and glad it helped! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAh...a great run is the cure for most if not all of our day-to-day ills. I'm glad you're back. Hope the sleep was good for you as well!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling better and that running helped. Hope that headache is long gone now.
ReplyDeleteCan you talk about your book project, or is it top secret at this point?
Actually, I woke up with a pretty brutal headache this morning. Thanks a lot! just kidding... I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the 3 glasses of wine I had with dinner! Oops.
ReplyDeleteRunning usually cures just about everything... glad to hear it chased away the headache!
headaches really do stink! Glad you are feeling better! It is nice to finish all that work and now be able to relax at least for a bit!
ReplyDeleteThose endorphins fixed you right up!
ReplyDeleteMay your headache cloud STAY away.
ReplyDeleteAnd I second BR's book question.
Does this mean you're having withdrawls from running? Sad ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better! I hope it doesn't settle on me though!!
I always say, "Running is the best medicine"
ReplyDeleteGlad your feeling better.
lots and lots of people with headaches.. I wonder if it's the crazy weather swings? I always love a good run to make me feel good though!
ReplyDeleteyay welcome back :) glad the headache is gone!
ReplyDeletei love run-off-able headaches. glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYou were able to run-off your headaches?!?! That's amazing!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel...I get the same stubborn headaches that come from sudden stress onset or I get a kink in my neck from a bike ride, gym workout etc. I have to take 3 aspirin called Vanquish. Its the ONLY thing (short of running) that will take away the headache and I have tried every pain relief concoction there is. Glad you were able to finally get some relief!!!
