It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN to the half marathon, which means it's the FINAL COUNTDOWN to the Happy Runner Half Marathon Challenge!
And, yes, I do have this song playing in my head now that I've typed "final countdown."
The rules for the challenge are listed HERE. Everyone who signed up is listed HERE. If you are signed up and you no longer plan to participate, or I have you in the wrong category, or you aren't listed and you should be, PLEASE LET ME KNOW with a comment here. Thanks!
As much as I can't wait to run the race, I can't wait to read your race reports. When I'm running on Saturday, I'll be thinking of everyone else who is either running 13.1 that day or over the course of three days.
My training for the half is done. I have two more runs on the schedule but they are just maintenance runs; the hard work is over. I ran an easy 7-miler on Saturday and was happy that my comfortable pace for the distance was 8:45. I hope I can hold that -- or faster -- for 13.1 on Saturday! I'll be posting my goals later this week.
How has your training gone? Are you excited to run this weekend? Do you have nice weather in your forecast for Saturday? Send some to Queens, if you do -- I don't want any snow or ran for the race!
The race is in five days. Five days! Exciting . . .
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by :-)

Can't wait! Have fun at the NYC! (I might be a little/ a lot jealous....)
I think I am in the wrong category. I should probably be a weekend miler. Thanks!
So excited!!! I realize that running 13.1 over 3 days (or 2 days in my case) isn't the same, but I will still be setting personal bests for distance, so very very excited!
I hope it's not too late, but I would love to participate! I'm running a half on April 2nd too. Good luck on your race! :)
Good luck this weekend, Felice! My training's a bit all over the place right now and I'm not sure what this weekend will hold, so I think I'm going to withdraw from competition - but I'm excited to hear how you do!
Good Luck this weekend!
I'll be running my first race, a 5k, in a long time.
Training for The Cleveland Marathon in May!

It is time! We are ready. Now if only the weather would cooperate.
I'm going to have to move into the weekend milers as im now almost 5 months preggo. whoops. Will do it in two days.
I'm SO excited for you guys. My Half will be 3 weeks later so this weekend I'm scheduled for a 11 mile run. Hopefully the weather will cooperate & I'll add 2.1 more to it over the weekend.
Happy Race Week! Time to rest up and get PUMPED up!
Oh Arrested Development. I miss you all the time.
I did a 5K on Saturday, but I haven't decided what my next one will be...
SO excited! I'll be running my half (actually a group training run) on Saturday. I'll be thinking of you!
I thought I had signed up for this but I am in for the half on Sunday.
I have that Arrested Dev quote on my FB page..makes me laugh everytime.
Karen -- I switched you -- thanks!
Jill -- gotcha!
Abby & Amy -- NO problem! Thanks for letting me know :-)
Laura -- I probably just missed it, sorry! You're in there now.
Im in the wrong category too. I sadly did my 13 miler a few weeks ago and then have another next weekend. But I will definitely be doing 13 this weekend. Can't wait to see how you do in the half!
All fixed. And thanks!
I'm in for 13 miles still. Good luck this weekend. You'll rock!
Happy race week!! Good luck to you and your proteges :)
I am really excited & super nervous about the Bentonville Half this Saturday. It has been 10 years since I ran 13.1 miles. The weather forecast is warm and beautiful. Training went great but now second guessing if it was enough....
I hope you all have a great race or 13.1 miles and that your goals are achieved.
PS-I am listed in the challenge as Marthacooper (aka Kristen C.)
Hi Felice - could you switch me to the WEEKEND MILERS? I am totally bummed - I think I over did it on the training a week ago and my knee (that I never had a problem with before) isn't going to let me run all 13.1 @ one time. So it goes....
Thanks. Good luck - looks like decen tweather!
good luck this weekend! i can't tell you how incredibly awesome it is that you posted that video. LOVE IT! so sad that show is over...
Oops, I should be listed as a weekend-runner and not a half marathoner. I'm running a 10-mile race and my other 3.1 will likely be done on a different day.
I'm not expecting a fast race -- running with friends -- but it will be fun. Hoping for a pretty day!
Good luck with your race. I know you're ready!
