Remember way back in the fall I mentioned that a friend of mine and I were starting to swap kids? Not in any weird way, just every Wednesday one of us would have both kids and the other would have freedom. It's been working out great but it hasn't helped much with my daytime runs, although that's what I thought I would get out of it in the beginning.
Instead, I've mostly used my Wednesdays to work. Boring, I know. But almost every Wednesday we've had some sort of gross, to use the technical term, precipitation. That's what happens in the winter in upstate New York.
Today, though, the weather cooperated and I took full advantage of it. I enjoyed a sunny, hilly, easy run today at 10:30 in the morning. Hoo-ha! Since it was already 50 degrees, and has been in the 40s for a few days, it was quite muddy out. Here's proof:
In other news, the x on my keyboard has gone wonky. The key cover thingy keeps popping off, which makes typing a bit difficult. What I wonder is, why the x? Doesn't the d or the r or one of those other mid-keyboard letters get more use? Wouldn't they be more likely to pop off? I would think so but I guess not. If you notice misspellings in upcoming posts, blame the x.

Felice--funny you should ask about the zumba influence on attire. I spent about 30 minutes coming up with the *right* zumba outfit last night--something cute and body hugging that I'd never wear running. I knew I'd look like a nerd in there with my dance moves, so I at least halfway tried to look the part.
But, yes, a half (or quarter?) shirt over my sports bra and those parachute-like zumba pants would certainly make a statement in the race!
Sorry your weather has been nasty, but great job getting out there anyway!
my shoes are no longer white, but i'll take the warmer temps. :)
Your shoes don't look *that* muddy! But I'll take your word for it. Btw, how many words do you type with "x"s in them?? ;-) It's probably better than the letter E or something. :-)
Oh, the camera always lies. Always. So I believe you. Congrats on your muddy run!
Glad you were able to get out and enjoy a day-time run, even if it was muddy!
I wore the "E" right off of my keyboard...good thing I don't have to look when I type...
my caps lock key keeps popping off. i was wondernig what i did to it?
I'm with Denise - this one is new, but my last one I wore the E off (but I don't have to look, so it's alright). My friend's C key has popped off, so they have to press the button 15 times every time they need to type the 'c'. So annoying.
Your shoes look lived in from here! :)
I've solved the muddy shoe problem by purchasing black shoes! I know, I'm a genius...you can thank me later ;)
And this is funny...the word verification thingy for your comments says "toned"!!!
That is weird about the "x"! I thought that "s", "r", "t", "e" and "a" would get much more of a workout...
Nice running in the mud!
Is it just me or does anyone else hate when their kicks get muddy? LOL Guess I have no business ever doing trail running, huh? LOL
I hear that the camera takes away 15 lbs of mud. Or something like that. I think.
YAY for muddy runs!!! :)
ha ha ha way to get after it even with the mud!! :) I hate mud too and that is hilarious about the camera taking off some mud. :) you are trying to be hardcore. I can feel it!
I like the swap kids idea. Except I'd ask whoever took my kids to keep them.
Kidding! I think.
I like when my kicks get muddy. Then they look respectable :)
you can definitely tell all the mud when you look at the stark white shoes in the 'before' picture! glad you were able to take advantage of the daylight and get in a good run!
