Some kind of yoga lover.

Wow, you all are really into the yoga! Thanks for your comments yesterday -- now I feel even more convinced that this yoga thing will be good for my marathon training.

And the changes in my flexibility and strength have me convinced as well.

Last night, for example, I did 45 minutes of Power Yoga on Exercise TV. About halfway through the session, we move from Warrior 1 into Warrior 3 and then into Half Moon Pose and Revolved Half Moon Pose. Looks a little like this:

Warrior 3
Half Moon Pose
Revolved Half Moon Pose

Yeah, it is tough. For me, at least. The first time I did it, my supporting leg was quite bent and pretty unstable. Last night, I was able to completely straighten my right leg and just about completely straighten my left leg. I'm rockin' the power yoga!

Watch out, yogis!

Today, though, I'll be happy to run. And maybe sneak in a quick post-run yoga session.  Who am I, some kind of yoga lover? Sheesh.

Happy Tuesday!

I used to think half moon pose was so so hard! I couldn't fully straighten my standing leg, I wobbled, and worst of all it always felt like I was pinching a nerve or something in my standing leg's hip. One day during class I realized that half moon was much easier and actually kind of fun now, and I was so excited.

Kim, yes! I'm wobbley! I can't wait until I stop wobbling!

That's great that you've found something new to love. Excellent improvements so far too! I never seem to manage to stick with a yoga routine, though I'd like to.

I think I am going to fall over on my butt just looking at those pics. lol. I might try it out one of these days though. I can do the crouching sun for 2 minutes. I will be doing the Bob Potts marathon in York Pa. Take care and have fun bending like Gumby and friends! More power to ya! lol

Amanda, I've been doing the Power Yoga and Dynamic Flow on exercise tv on demand. I've also done the athletic yoga recovery, and I like that. I haven't used any actual videos, just exercise tv. A lot of people like Rodney Yee, however.

Good luck!

I am new to yoga and 2 weeks ago I did the same videos (on demand) and the same pose gave me such trouble! I couldn't hold it and I felt like I was going to fall over. I was sore for like 2 days after too! Glad to know that pose gets a little easier :)

loveeee yoga…have been practicing for 5+ years, but that revolved half-moon pose. I struggle big time! My hammies are the most un-flexable things in the world! It does amazing things for flexibility, stability (philosophical and in real life), and strength. I think it compliments running perfectly! Dennis Richards is someone you might like.
