Notification.

Ahem.

I would like to notify whomever happens to be in charge that it is October. Not yet November and certainly not December. October. The month in which we upstate New Yorkers gloat about the exuberantly colorful foliage that our deciduous trees display each year. The month in which we put our flower beds to rest for the season, pick pumpkins and apples, enjoy brisk afternoons raking the fallen leaves.

When did it also become the month in which we have to shovel our walkways?

The view from my front door, 4:30 pm.

I totally agree. When did summer go right into winter? Where's the fall foliage? This weird weather is definitely not sitting well with me.

lol, I guess that is one of the things I will never worry about here in Mexico....what do you do with that weather??, do you still go out to run??

The only thing I have to worry about here, is about mosquitos and rain!!

In U.P. MI we consistantly got snow before halloween...it always melted (one year we did for Halloween and didnt' for X-mas...screwed up I tell ya). But, it alwas seems unfair to have the snow start early. Here's hoping it melts very, very soon!

What do you do about running in the winter? Do you brave the elements? Treadmill?

So beautiful, inevitable, and annoying all wrapped up in one cold package. I agree things weather-wise are moving a bit too fast for comfort. Great pic, I love the view from your door.

Julianne -- I did NOT run in that! I can handle snowy running in December, not October!

Diana -- I'm lucky (or unlucky, depending on you look at it) to have a treadmill so I can run inside when it is yucky out!

Oh, no! And I bet it got worse, too...

I will officially quit my weather-related complaining and replace it with "at least it's not snowing."

The picture is beautiful, but I share your feelings. October is too early for that stuff. I say this even though I am desperate for cooler weather. It is only spring here and as hot as it should be in Jan/Feb. Not fun!
