Five things Friday.

  1. I've already set my DVR to record the NYC marathon recap on NBC, just in case I don't get to watch it when it airs. Yes, I'm that geeky.
  2. I ran in shorts again yesterday evening and I'm crossing my fingers that the weather holds so I can do the same tonight. Love the late-October runs in shorts. Such a treat.
  3. My last CSA delivery was yesterday. Seems so . . . final. I'm thinking about whether or not to purchase a share again next year. This year, I split a share with a friend, but she's not planning to buy-in next year. Decisions, decisions . . .
  4. This here Happy Runner is not planning to run any races right now. None. I had been planning to do at least one more 5K this year and a 15K. Then I dropped them from my "schedule." I don't know, just wasn't feeling it. Ever since I dropped the races? Wow -- my runs have felt great. Free and easy and fun. Loving it! I think it is exactly what I need right now.
  5. Go Yankees!!!! (Sorry, Phillies fans -- although I do love your Phillie Phanatic.)
Have a great weekend, everyone! Good luck to everyone who is racing -- yay!!!

Aren't runs with shorts in the fall great! I've been able to do that the last couple of mornings and it has been such a treat!

and yay for you for great runs lately...it makes all the hard work worth it to have those runs that just feel good doesn't it?!

I also feel better about my runs when I don't have a race coming up. It's nice to not have any anxiety and just run!

I'm racing a 10K tomorrow and am hoping for shorts... it would be cool to do a Halloween race with bare legs, never done that. And I know EXACTLY what you mean about not having a race coming up. It's liberating, actually. Good for you!

Hmmmm not racing and feeling better about running.. What a concept??

I tried running in short, my knees were yelling at me the whole time "Put tights on you crazy lady!" Did you know knees could yell, well they can.

Have a great weekend!

Not so geeky...I am recording the original showing and the recap just in case I somehow get on camera! Haha! Have a great weekend!

"Free and easy and fun." I need some of that! Five weeks to marathon....

I've forgotten what fun feels like!

I had to play catch up on your last month of posts. I'm glad your toe and knee are better and sorry the 5K didn't go as planned. I hate it when I have to walk in a 5K because I can't get the pace quite right.

Sorry, but I have to say it - go Phils!

(And that's both from me as a Phillies fan, and my red sox loving husband)

We're mid-70s to 80s during the day all week, I am planning on making use of some of that beautiful weather...

Enjoy your time off. I felt a little lost at first once I had no race to look forward to, and then realized I was free to do whatever distance/speed/cross training I liked. It was like...whew! :)

glad your running is going well! maybe you just needed a little "pressure-free" time. not that you were weighing yourself down, but somehow having a couple races hanging over us can get under our skin more than we think! these mild temps are quite welcome to hang around as long as they want :)
