Recommendations?

Today's not my day so just a quick post.

Does anyone have suggestions for a blender?

I make smoothies every morning (banana, frozen strawberries, plain yogurt and flax meal) and my blender can't really handle it. I have to stop the machine several times to mix up the ingredients to get things moving. I need something better, something that will support me through my smoothie-making days! Seriously, I need a powerful machine and I'm looking to you for recommendations! THANKS!!!!!

And don't forget: My Champion gear giveaway ends tonight!

Yay, tomorrow is Friday!!!

Well, I don't actually have one because they are pricy, but if I had a bunch of $ to blow I am definitely coveting the Vitamix. It sounds like the world's best blender to me!

Ditto on the Vitamix. It sounds like a great one. Otherwise, if you go to a restaurant store (surplus?) they have the bartender blenders that are very, very sturdy. Although, that can be quite pricing.

Sorry, I don't blend stuff very much.

This is a great question! Ours broke over the summer when my husband was making a smoothie and we haven't replaced it yet. Good idea to go to a restaurant supply store - hadn't thought about that!

I make a lot of smoothies in the summer time - just thought it was normal to have to stop and move the strawberries around in there, but maybe it's because I've got an old, cheap blender!

We've been using Braun for the past couple of years, glass jug so we don't ingest scraped off plastic, not expensive, runs great, crushes ice, pulverizes sugar into powder. Love it.

I use a Cuisinart one. Love it...and it has lasted for 2 years.

BTW: Check out my blog for a cool giveaway.

I use my immersion blender for smoothies - SO much easier than a regular sized blender. I think mine is a cuisenart brand. If you don't have one of these you should totally get one. Cheap ($25 on amazon) and great. Easy to clean by hand or in the DW. I can't believe I went so long without one!

I'd highly recommend the Vita-mix! It is pricey, but I think if you invest you'd find yourself using it for lots of things. I make some kind of nut butter at least once a week, just think of the savings.I even whip up applesauce in seconds. Try ebay or craigslist, maybe you'll find a deal. They are totally worth the $$$

Good Luck!

I use an immersion blender too, picked it up at Target. Makes a great soups too. One I DO NOT recommend is the Magic Bullet....not so magic at all!

Interesting article as for me. It would be great to read more about that matter. Thanx for sharing that material.

I had an Osterizer. It's not the best, but can definitely handle smoothies.

Hmmm...what is an immersion blender? Sounds very interesting.

I use the magic bullet and have had good luck with it too...but maybe that's just me!

I have a pink kitchenaid blender and I love it. Not only is it cute but it works great too. Oster is also a good brand.
