Yes, yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day. But it was also cold and windy. So, on one hand, it was a perfect day for a run. On the other, it was a perfect day for lying around in sweats, eating cheese fries and watching yet another Judith Light made-for-tv movie. Luckily, the run won out.
But it was cold! Man! I didn't expect it to be so cold. I guess it was about 30 degrees but the wind chill made it feel like it was about -20 or something like that. I got in a 4.25 mile run at 8:50 pace and felt great. It cannot wait until all of my runs are outdoor runs again.
While I was running, the hubs took Conal ice skating for the first time. I've been saying, "No hockey!" practically since the day the kid was born but, hmm, he does look cute in those skates:
So, we'll see what happens with that. Considering that Conal is not yet two, we have plenty of time to figure it out.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone!

My Saturday run was sunny too. And cold. And windy. bleck!
Brrr....I am hoping my run today will not be rainy...so far it's only cloudy...but who knows.
We still had too much snow to get out today with my bum leg, but I hear we have warm weather coming so look out world...I'll be out that door!
love the pic, two cuties!
The wind is what kills me. I hate running in it, especially when it's freezing out!
Awwwhhh how cute! Man I haven't been skating in forever! Thank God the kids have no interest . . .yet LOL
Conal does look great on those skates!
The cheese fries won out for me yesterday :-(
Aww...the little fella looks really cute in skates.
Way to go on the run!
very cute pic. Yes, the sun was nice, but oh so deceiving this weekend.
such a cute pic :) awesome job on that coooold run!!
Very cute picture. Congrats on the cold run. FYI, daylight savings is one week away! Hello daylight!
Adorable! Why no hockey? The agression thing?
Good job with your run! I can't wait to get to that pace :)
Diana -- The aggression thing, sure. But also the cost, the early morning ice time, the travel. It seems like hockey is just so much. We'll see what happens. Track, basketball -- those all seem like they would be a lot easier. For me :-). Ha!
Nice run! And I agree with the whole kids look cute in hockey skates (and wait till he puts on a helmet!), but keeping them away from hockey, or at least not pushing them towards that sport. I love hockey in theory, but unfortunately the culture that comes along with it is a bit too much for me. My kids have expressed little interest in it, though my older one absolutely loves skating and he might start asking to play hockey very soon. It's really too bad about how such a great sport can desolve into so much negativity and turn off people as a result...
Is "desolve" a word? I don't think so, and I don't even have any concussions in my past to use as an excuse!!!
Awwwwwwwwww...so cute on the skates!
I hear ya on the cold front...is it Spring yet? I just want to not have to worry about frostbite!
why does that all make me think of MY TODDLER, MY HUSBAND & golf :)
Conal is a cute boy! Glad you had a good run, even if it was cold. Running outside is ALWAYS better!
